Ramon Tapia & Hermanez welcome their new imprint AELLA Music

AELLA MUSIC - RamonTapia and Hermanez are already big players in the scene and had the feeling that a lot of friends made amazing music but didn't got the chance to release their music thats why The label AELLA MUSIC is mostly focussed on releasing music from their close friends and of course just good music as what they think is good with a wide variety of styles. And what a record they signed for their first release!!!! Dave Brody - Never Go. Dave is a producer that has mostly been under the radar but a well respected producer in Antwerp the city he lives, but now with this release the Aella team wanted to give him the respect he deserves…

The A side: Title track is full of rawness and incredible power! Techno - house - bouncing
that are all the things that jumped in our minds said the Aella team. We directly said this has to be released to Dave and we got a platform to do so…. BOMB ALERT

The B side track is Called Em Tech. A crazy groove and a hypnotic synth will bring you to pure dancefloor ecstasy. Especially the break in this track is huge huge huge- tested by Ramon Tapia and Hermanez on many occasions and already gets support from some big players.
Dave Brody shows what he is capable of in every way. This will be THE guy to watch out for in 2011

The remix of the title track is done by AELLA aka Ramon Tapia & Hermanez.
We think you know that this means ultimate damage on the floor! We don't think we need to say more...

DJ MADSKILLZ - Carinval Chaos incl. Ramon Tapia remix on Formatik Records

After the huge success of the catalogue number 005, Formatic Records has carved the next dance board. The beginning of the new year gives thanks to the constructing DJ Madskillz- presenting the bottom of a noble carnival-wagon, which drills itself through the castle walls of lethargy like a trojan horse. Behind it the client in person jumps out of the bellies strong vehicle and brings the Format:B remix, making even more tumult in the- without a doubt from luck traced- party bodies. The communal phenomenon that DJ Madskillz describes as carnival chaos is also being picked up by Ramon Tapia, who (as usual) bits the celebrating horse from behind making it spit fire in front during peak-time. A movement with pyrotechnical potential in the yet young post New-Years-Eve-2010-Era.

Ramon Tapia, Secret Cinema & Steve Slight - Pelican ep - OUT March, 07th 2011

GEM010 features Ramon Tapia’s own production ‘Pelican’ and ‘Opal’ in collaboration with Secret Cinema. The EP is completed by Belgian golden boy Steve Slight. A tasty 3 tracker!

Ramon Tapia’s solo track ‘Pelican’ on the X-side is a tribal tech house hammer. A sure fire winner for the floor. On the Y1, 'Opal', Secret Cinema and Ramon team up to create a euphoric tech number. On this jam, simplicity is its beauty.

The Y2 comes from rising star Steve Slight. Introduced to us by Ramon. He is developing into one of Belgium’s hottest producers right now. The first track we snatched up is ‘Who Knows’, and is the most explosive on the EP. A well balanced smooth yet energetic and raw techno track. Keep an ear out for this guy!

UPCOMING RELEASE: RAMON TAPIA PRES. STRICTLY RHYTHMS VOL. 6

Label: Strictly Rhythm
Release Date: 7th December

Strictly Rhythm announces that the highly respected, Dutch/Chilean house producer, Ramon Tapia, will select and mix the next ‘Strictly Rhythms’ compilation, due out on the 7th December. The sixth instalment in the acclaimed series features a selection of tracks from the legendary Strictly Rhythm back catalogue, with some exclusive edits and remixes from Tapia himself, and underlines why the label continues to be one of house music’s most successful brands.

For any self-respecting DJ / producer, mixing the latest in the Strictly Rhythms series is a coveted role, but also one that comes with a certain amount of pressure. Strictly Rhythm is a name synonymous with the best in timeless house music and the responsibility of delving into the back catalogue and delivering a mix worthy of the name is a big one. Previous successes in the series come from the likes of Charles Webster and Radio Slave, so standards are certainly high. However, with Vol.6, Roman Tapia steps up and delivers in a big way. His blend of chunky, deep house provides just the sort of quality that will appeal to traditional house heads, but which also delivers a new jazzy, funked up groove aimed squarely at the dancefloor. This mix takes a bow to Strictly past but looks ahead to the future.

Strictly Rhythm head of A & R, Seamus Haji had little doubt that Ramon would make his mark on this compilation series, “Ramon had one of the biggest selling singles on Strictly this year with ‘This Groove’ so the first thing I did as the new A&R was approach him for a follow up. He sent me the hot new ‘Year 3000’ EP and also a remix he’d done for Sir James’s Special. He told me about some other ideas he had to re-edit & remix some old classics on the label too. I could see he had a vision! He’s done a firing mix for us and all the edits, re-edits and remixes he’s done have brought the tracks up to date without losing the magic of the originals. Ramon is a real talent!”

The track selection on this mix is sublime, touching on classics from legendary names such as DJ Sneak, Mood II Swing, Ultra Nate, Kings of Tomorrow, Armand Van Helden and more, but with Ramon Tapia’s distinctive, edits, remixes and funky swing, seamlessly holding the mix together and drawing you in. This is a mix that maintains a cool and credible vibe, while simultaneously providing an uplifting, floor-filling groove, reflecting the Strictly Rhythm musical ethos over the years.
Of the track selection, Ramon comments, “Strictly Rhythm is, was and remains a synonym for ‘timeless music’. The ‘Strictly Rhythm Vol 6’ mix contains a string of classics which go from DJ Sneak to Mood II Swing, from Ultra Nate to The Untouchables. I decided to include my all time favourites from the Strictly Rhythm back catalogue in the mix – alongside other gems which I remixed and edited myself.”

On this evidence the Strictly Rhythms mix series is in safe hands…

‘Strictly Rhythms Vol. 6’ – mixed by Ramon Tapia is due out on December 7th on Strictly Rhythm.

RAMON TAPIA - SUNKA SANKA

Ramon Tapia is definitely one of the hottest new talents in Europe. With releases and remixes lined up also on labels like Strictly Rhythm, Sci+Tec, Monique Musique and Riva Starr’s new label Snatch! his dj- and production career kick-started from zero to none. The steady support by very diverse djs from Josh Wink, Michel Cleis, Thomas Schumacher and Len Faki to Riva Starr, Joris Voorn, Sébastien Léger and 2000 And One helped him to get confidence in his stylistic path of choice.

For sure this upcoming proper debut album “Sunka Sanka” will be the next big highlight for the Belgian producer from Antwerp, son of a Chilean political refugee and a Dutch mother. Like in his earlier profession as an official gold smith, his sound scapes are pure machine made jewellery, all perfectly polished for the dancefloor.
With the exception of “I Want You”, the track he did with dutch techno legend Secret Cinema, the full album is produced by him alone in Antwerp in his tiny bedroom studio. Whenever Ramon needs to check his productions on a proper soundsystem the legendary club Café D’Anvers opens its door also during daytime.

Ramon’s music definitely makes people smile - and bounce. It’s filled with the joyous exuberance of the high octane party spirit that initially inspired Ramon to get involved when he was young. It was actually down to his two elder sisters whose musical taste had a huge influence on the youngster. Returning home from the most renowned clubs of the Nineties their gleaming eyes told tales of exuberance and liberation, making Ramon aware of the power of the electronic beats.

Completely fascinated by the sounds of Front 242, Frank De Wulf, Kraftwerk, A Split Second, Tyree Cooper and Kevin "Reese" Saunderson, it was only after his move to Belgium’s techno power capital Antwerp that Ramon started to buy vinyl and become involved in DJing. Working in a record shop while studying to be a gold smith, he realized that music was his life, subconsciously tracing his father’s foot steps.

His dad, the only other musician in the family and whose music was provocative enough to enrage the repressive military government of his home country Chile, is possibly one of the main reasons why Ramon does not get disheartened on his way to the top. “I just want to do my own thing and play.”

Outstanding Ramon Tapia Rmx - MARTIN EYERER & BENNO BLOME – Pianoroll Remix

No doubt, the original track from Martin Eyerer & Benno Blome is definitely very different and special. And the idea of putting a jazzfunk organ on top of a driving groove received big respect from countless tastemakers. Like from Audiofly, who loved it so much, that they did an edit, which will now get its proper release. A brilliant work by simply adding some bits and pieces to the groove which now makes it 10 times more effective and easier to play. Additionally wonderboy Ramon Tapia found a great way of fusing parts of the original organ with a big bassline and pushing percussions. Looking forward for Ramon’s album in winter 2009.

greatstuffmusic.blogspot.com/2001/02/craft040.html

Ramon Tapia alias El Carlitto, son of a Chilenean musician who had to run from his home country as he stood up against the regime, and a Dutch woman who was brave enough to fall in love, is a funny character, a very ambitious one: No one would have guessed he, the young jeweler working behind the counter of an Antwerp record shop, would one day release records on labels as renowned as Soma Rec,Remote Area , Turbo Rec, , 100 % Pure , Greatstuff ,Intacto and ofcourse not to forget his own label ( Aella Music ) that he runs together with Hermanez . But he does! And he does not stop there! With remixes for Mauro Picotto , Silicon Soul ,dj Sneak , Ni Fanciulli , Armand van Helden and many more under his belt, things are looking more than good for the energetic player.

With a happy past in gabba and Michael Jackson and Quincy Jones roots, Ramon has a firm understanding of diversity and a very broad taste in music, readily amplified by his open mind and soul. His Latin background and his Dutch upbringing perfectly explain his cultural curiosity and his deep rooted sense for groove and rhythm. Shimmering through in his intrinsic productions is his love for structural buildups and breakdowns and harmonies which underlay the driving beats.

Mission: “To make people move by taking them on a trip in my musical head without even going into my head,” laughs Ramon, who started getting into making music to “have more feeling for the music. I started with some guy I knew from the shop then I learned step by step to create my own sound. After a while I got the impression that the people I worked with never did the things that I had flying around in my head, so I started to do my own stuff. It gives me a huge satisfaction when I see people smile when they hear my music.”

“A lot of music has had a huge influence on my productions: I like everything from oldskool rap, Ice T/NWA, Snoop, Boards of Canada, totally freaked out stuff, everything that makes sound and moves me. I will buy and play electro, house, minimal, whatever you wanna call it, I like everything. I also love the old Latino stuff, the folk of Latin America.”

It shows: Ramon’s music indeed makes people smile - and bounce.

His dad, the only other musician in the family and whose music was provocative enough to enrage the repressive military government of his home country Chile, is possibly one of the main reasons why Ramon does not get disheartened on his way to the top. “I just want to do my own thing and play.”
